Animals found in reefs |
134 species of sharks and rays. Reef sharks are one of the most common. There are two different types of reef sharks, the white tipped shark and the black tipped shark.
The white tip shark is the more commonly found in warm water of up to 3 meters. The black tipped shark, unlike its sibling can be found around 30 centimeters below the water. Both sharks eat crabs and other shelled beasts, fish and octopus. |
Jellyfish are found in the great barrier reef. Perhaps the most well known it the Pacific Man o’ war . Surprisingly the man o’ war is not one creature but for other zooids. All the individual zooids depend on each other for survival. The man o’ war can eat dead animals, live animals and even animal feces.
